Co-Design Studio is a unique and innovative minor programme offered jointly by Fundamentals Academy and the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. The programme is designed for students who are interested in the interdisciplinary field of design and want to learn about Co-Design approaches that engage users, stakeholders, and communities in the design process.
During the programme, students explore different Co-Design methods and tools that enable them to collaborate with diverse groups of people to create meaningful and impactful design solutions. The programme also focuses on developing skills such as empathy, critical thinking, and communication, which are essential for this type of design proces. We do this by offering not only design coaching, but also life coaching to our students.
The Co-Design Studio operates as an actual design studio, and is structured around real-world design projects. Students work in teams, tackling complex design challenges for actual clients. These projects are guided by experienced tutors who provide mentorship, feedback, and support throughout the design process. Our coaches prepare them for careers in design, innovation, and social entrepreneurship, where these human centered design skills are in high demand.
Overall, Co-Design Studio is a transformative learning experience that empowers students to become effective co-designers who can drive positive change in society through design.
